Pulse Models Global Impact

Since winning Pulse’s Model Search, Alicia Burke became fashion’s fastest rising star in 2016. Her blistering pace is set to light up the CFW runway when she returns for the 17th edition in June.

In less than a year, she has gone where no other Caribbean model has gone before. With works for Ralph Lauren’s ‘Iconic” campaign, make up mavericks Clinique and Bobbi Brown as well as Coach, Burke’s career has soared to new heights in record time.

She has walked the runway for some of the globe’s best designers: Armani, Dolce & Gabanna, Bottega Vennetta,  Gucci, Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo, Stella Mc Cartney, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, Prada, Versace and scores more, so much so that Vogue has declared her one of 6 bomshells taking over international fashion. And, to add to an already amazing year, the Pulse supermodel earned a triple fold out cover of the coveted Italian Vogue magazine.

After a stellar show season (see slide below). Burke’s recent fashion gigs include campaigns and advertising for Gucci, H&M and Tommy Hilfiger in March.

The Event

As the main catalyst for Caribbean fashion industry development, Caribbean Fashionweek continues to remain true to its essence. CFW introduced a global perspective to fashion in the region. It has focused international attention on what the Caribbean has to offer  by working with stakeholders to build capacity and generate business for Caribbean stylists.

Caribbean Fashionweek designers have been featured in Vogue, The Associated Press, The Independent, Fashion TV Paris, The New York Times, i-D, The BBC and a host of other media around the world.

CFW has received a number of awards and has been recognized by British Vogue, as an important new development in world fashion.
